Theosophy is a term used in general to designate the knowledge of God supposed to be obtained by the direct intuition of the Divine essence. Sin, poverty, and misery are the fruits of ignorance, and are gradually removed as the spirit in us becomes freed from earthly dross. In of a Christian ethical phraseology, theosophy in reality is a form of pantheism, and denies a personal God and personal immortality.
