The Codex Vaticanus is said to be the oldest extant vellum manuscript. Il Codex Vaticanus si dice sia il più antico manoscritto esistente vellum. The Codex Vaticanus, commonly referred to as CODEX B, is a Greek manuscript, the most important of all the manuscripts of Holy Scripture. As to the editions of this codex, the Roman edition of the Septuagint (1587) was based on the Vaticanus.
