En outre, la façon dont la Bible utilisée à écrire était très différent de la façon dont nous lisons aujourd'hui. Pour vous donner le "goût" de la problématique, nous présentons Genèse 1 EN ANGLAIS ici dans certains formats historiques, nos efforts en arrière dans le temps à mesure que nous. Bien sûr, la source originelle des documents n'étaient pas en anglais. De nombreux (plus de 5000) sont en grec. D'autres (plus de 10000) sont des copies du latin Vulgate Bible (d'environ 400 AD). Elle est vraiment une réalisation remarquable par les nombreuses centaines de scribes qui avait pour copier l'ensemble de la Bible qu'ils ont fait étonnamment peu de copier les erreurs! (Nous savons qu'il ya eu un petit nombre, et nous savons maintenant où ils étaient, car des milliers de copies de ceux existants Scribe écrits manuscrits ont été soigneusement comparé pour voir si et quand ils avaient tout d'infimes différences.
La situation de la Bible et de sa vaste taille semble que cela aurait provoqué d'énormes erreurs de copiste au cours des siècles en raison de l'ampleur de la tâche et le format qui est en cours de copie. Il est vraiment un signe de la façon incroyablement minutieuse tous les copistes étaient qu'il n'y avait que peu d'erreurs (mineurs) que l'on trouve dans quelques-uns des manuscrits. Heureusement pour nous, il ya tellement de source manuscrits qui existent que les quelques modifications qui ont été trouvés ont été vérifiés dans tous les documents sources et les savants sont aujourd'hui extrêmement certain de l'exactitude de la traduction moderne.
Comme un élément supplémentaire à réfléchir, beaucoup début Ancien Testament source manuscrits sont rédigés en hébreu. Avant d'environ 900 après JC, l'hébreu a été écrit sans les voyelles. Pouvez-vous imaginer les possibilités de ce qui pourrait arriver si les copistes étaient même un peu négligente?
