Anglo-Catholicism is the modern name for that tradition within Anglicanism that was previously termed "High Church." الانغلو - الكاثوليكيه هو الاسم الحديث لهذا التقليد العريق داخل الانجليكيه التي كان يطلق عليه سابقا "عالية الكنيسة". Earlier High Churchmen had tended to dismiss the claims of Free Church bodies on the ground that they were not a part of the Church of England, duly constituted by law. فى وقت سابق من ارتفاع الكهنه قد تميل الى تجاهل المطالبات الحرة الهيئات الكنسيه ، على أساس أنها لم تكن جزءا من كنيسة انكلترا ، وحسب الاصول بموجب القانون. In modern times four strands of Anglo Catholicism have been discerned: (1) The Cambridge Camden Society and its successors, who lay great and somewhat romantic emphasis upon English history and pre Reformation English rites and vestments; (2) liberal Anglo Catholicism, which is less authoritarian and more friendly to liberal theology; (3) evangelical Catholics, who attempt to blend the biblical and Reformation teachings on grace and gospel with the classical dogmas and distinctive polity; and (4) pro Roman Anglo Catholicism, whose main aim is the reunion of Anglicanism with Roman Catholicism, not merely in a general ecumenical way but by the sacrifice of the doctrine of the Anglican Reformation when it conflicts with the Council of Trent. في العصر الحديث من أربعة مسارات الانغلو الكاثوليكيه وقد معروف : (1) كامبردج كامدين المجتمع والتي ستخلفها ، الذي يكمن الى حد كبير والتركيز على الرومانسيه الانكليزيه اصلاح ما قبل التاريخ والطقوس والانجليزيه اثواب ؛ (2) الليبرالي الانجلو الكاثوليكيه ، التي هي أقل سلطويه واكثر ودا ليبرالي اللاهوت ؛ (3) الانجيليه الكاثوليك ، والتي تحاول المزج بين الكتاب المقدس وتعاليم الإصلاح على النعمة والانجيل مع الكلاسيكيه العقائد وسياسي متميز ؛ و(4) الموالية الانغلو الرومانيه الكاثوليكيه ، وهدفها الرئيسى هو ريونيون من الانجليكيه مع الكاثوليكيه الرومانيه ، وليس فقط في العام المسكونيه الطريقة ولكن من التضحيه للعقيده الانغليكانيه الاصلاح عندما كان يتعارض مع مجلس ترينت.

Anglo Catholicism has emphasized the doctrine of the incarnation, sacramental theology, and ecclesiastical polity. وقد اكد الانغلو الكاثوليكيه عقيده التجسد ، sacramental اللاهوت الكنسي والسياسي. It has appealed more to clergy than to laity. وقد ناشدت لاكثر من رجال الدين إلى العلماني.
