The Council of Basel convened in 1431 as the 17th ecumenical council of the Roman Catholic church. مجلس الذي عقد في بازل 1431 وكما السابعه عشرة للمجلس المسكوني للكنيسة الروم الكاثوليك. Its ostensible purpose was to initiate church reform and bring an end to the difficulties with the Hussites, but it originated in a decree of the Council of Constance (1417) that required the calling of councils at regular intervals. وكان الغرض الظاهري دورته للشروع في اصلاح الكنيسة ووضع حد لصعوبات مع hussites ، ولكنه نشأ في مرسوم صادر عن مجلس كونستانس (1417) التي تحتاج الى استدعاء المجالس على فترات منتظمة. Basel had been designated as the place for this ecumenical council by the abortive council of Pavia -- Siena (1423-1424). بازل قد عين المكان لهذا المجلس المسكوني فاشل من قبل مجلس بافيا -- سيينا (1423-1424). The Greek bishops and theologians attended the council of Ferrara from 9 April 1438. الاساقفه اليوناني وعلماء دين وحضر مجلس فيرارا من 9 نيسان / ابريل 1438. The council was transferred to Florence on 10 January 1439. المجلس وتم نقله الى فلورنسا في 10 كانون الثاني / يناير 1439. The decisions taken at Basel have the form of conciliar decrees. القرارات التي اتخذت في بازل يكون على شكل conciliar المراسيم. The acts of the council of Basel were first published by S.
